The Conch Shell
Conch symbolized authority and order. Whoever holds the conch has power. The "littluns" respect one who posses the conch and listen to him. In this book it shows how fragile the conch is and in each chapter it is becoming weak, just like the order on the island.

Piggy's Glasses
Piggy was the voice of reason on the island and for a time the voice for peace, so in that sense his glasses were representative of his seeing things more clearly than the others as opposed to reverting to a more primitive attitude like the other boys. Also since they used his glasses as the primary means of making fire on the island they were also a symbol of power. The boys used fire to stay warm, to keep away "nightly things", and to cook food, so it was very important. Whomever controlled fire had the power

Signal Fire
represents the boys reach to get back to civilization, but they never seem to keep the fire lit, because of them accepting their savage ways. So to sum it up the fire represents the gap between the civilized boys and the savages they are becoming

Beast
I feel that the Beast (the pigs head) is the fear of the boys of what they have within: savagery. The pigs head calls himself "the Lord of the Flies." Throughout the book.
